Or Notes Brass

Created in 2003 by 5 laureates of the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, Or Notes Brass was born within a Chamber Music class of Jens Mac Manama (soloist for the Ensemble Intercontemporain). Or Notes Brass has also worked meanwhile with famous international groups in Master Classes (Spanish Brass, Canadian Brass, Ensemble Epsilon).

Or Notes Brass has worked its way up to the level of the best ensembles in France. Enthusiastic, brilliant, and generous, these musicians rank among the most prestigious chamber music artists in France and abroad. Their group repertory includes a multitude of styles, from ancient music to contemporary.

A few references

Or Notes Brass performs all over France (Lyon, Paris, at the Epsival Festival of Limoges, the Berlioz Festival, the Music and Sound Fair…) as well as in other countries (Festival of Lucerne, Switzerland - 2004, directed by Pierre Boulez, concerts in Leverkusen, Germany, for the Festival Bayer Cropsciense in 2005). They have been broadcast on the National Music and Public Radios.

The members of the Quintet play within other prestigious orchestras as well: Opéra de Paris, Opéra de Lyon, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Orchestre du Captitole de Toulouse…and under the direction of Pierre Boulez, Christoph Eschenbach, Myung-Whun Chung, Jonathan Nott, Emmanuel Krivine, Armin Jordan, Jesus Lopez Cobos, etc. They have won 1st Prize in the international competitions of Munich, of Lyon and in an all-European competition.
