Juggling tennis rackets and balls - Dom-Dom
Photo GalleryDominique Baird-Smith, alias Dom-DomBorn in 1980 of French-Scottish nationality, Dom-Dom decided as a youth that he wanted to be a tennis champion (in vain, alas!). At 15, he discovered circus arts with the Ecole des Arts de la Piste in Boulogne, France. After he joined the Compagnie Balthazar Circus with a clown act called "Clownologue" and an interactive street show: "The Medieval Quest." Later, he created a comical juggling duet ("Les Ecorssais") with accordion accompaniment. He continued his training at the Verstrate Création School with the famous juggler Italo Medini and in the mime classes of Dichliev, collaborator of Marcel Marceau.Balls, what a racket !In 2001, Dom-Dom decided to mix tennis rackets and balls in a burlesque juggling number called: "Balls, what a racket !". This act is spiced up with catchy music from the Middle East, and Dom-Dom portrays a tennis player from the early 20th century, a bit naïve, a bit lost, but inventive and oh, so charming! His love of tennis joins up with his fascination for characters that have inspired him, Jacques Tati, Charlie Chaplin, and Buster Keaton, to reveal great talent as a juggler and as a showman.
